Jordan, 23 · Trainee estate agent
Confident, generous, wrong surprisingly often. Owns trainers worth more than his emergency fund, which is not difficult because he doesn't have one. Has never voluntarily read a payslip — his own or, worryingly for his career, anyone else's.
Blind spot: believes future Jordan is rich. Favourite saying: “You can't take it with you, mate.”
Tayo, 24 · Junior data analyst
The quiet one with the spreadsheet — colour-coded, backed up, never mentioned unless directly asked, at which point he becomes the most interesting man on the street. Splits every bill to the penny within an hour of it landing.
Strength: the houseshare's central bank. Watch for: the side project he hasn't told the others about.
Life on the Close
Priya from number 7 is the houseshare's external auditor — round monthly for 'dinner that is mostly garlic bread', dispensing calculator links at decisive moments. Ken lets them put their bins out late and pretends not to notice. Jordan is currently trying to sell Tayo a flat, which Tayo is enjoying not buying.
